The Sting of Disappointment: Uncovering Fear’s Hidden Weight

Exploring how deep-seated disappointment fuels fear, isolation, and betrayal, and how recognizing it can begin the journey toward healing

“We want to speak about disappointment. Above all, we want to help dissolve this sting in the heart, for it acts as a weight – a weight through which fear manages to cling to you, maintaining its presence in the body. This feeling of disappointment exists, like a thin, almost invisible cloud that hovers and envelops the heart. It is very primal, like loneliness and panic, and it lies beneath despair. It stirs great anger and amplifies belief in fear, or alternatively, lack of belief.

“It appears in those terrible moments of awakening into a new world, into a new incarnation – when one is just beginning to grasp what has changed, when there is still a memory of the consciousness from which you came and an understanding of what you are entering. But it exists mainly from that original beginning, when fear first appeared. In that transition from a world of love to a world of fear, when the belief in eternity was replaced with belief in temporality, as you found yourselves increasingly living within this kind of world, a very deep disappointment was born, whispering that what you were taught and lived by is untrue. And it exists especially within those who remember attempts to move beyond – to transcend the fear that began to take root, attempts to return to the experience of home. The helplessness felt in those moments, when the door was closed and the key nowhere in sight, brought with it disappointment.

“This sting in the heart is impactful; it has a significant influence. It generates abandonment, the experience of betrayal, it stirs distrust and amplifies loneliness, and it locks you within a prison”.
