“This phenomenon you are asking about is the result of an unconscious choice to let go of one’s grip on reality.
“It occurs in individuals who have lived with excessive attachment to material reality – the desire to know, to control, and to be deeply involved in everything that happens. These tendencies have been very strong. This phenomenon is one way to release that control, to reach a state of non-grasping of reality – where reality cannot be perceived, understood, or remembered, and therefore, cannot be acted upon accordingly.
“In a sense, we would say it is similar to a person without hands who cannot act or engage in ways that hands typically allow for involvement.
“We need to explain that when a person is on a life journey, they are on that journey to experience transformation. Even if the person is not consciously seeking to change, even if they appear to live an ordinary life, the life journey is inherently one of transformation. A soul chooses to enter a body to undergo some form of change, to encounter specific aspects of life, and to create transformation within itself. Illnesses or phenomena of this kind manifest in the material when change does not occur through other means.
“In this case, when a person does not release their grip in other ways, the body may eventually create a phenomenon that forces this release. In this phenomenon, the experience becomes more about direct sensation than comprehension. Without memory, there is little capacity to understand, think, or act based on that understanding. What remains is more of an immediate experience of reality. Sometimes, this can feel soft or pleasant, and at other times, it can feel more threatening, as the ability to remember, comprehend, and respond is absent”.
