Wisdom of the Month: January 2025

January challenges us to release certainty and embrace transformation. Tohar offers guidance on choosing ourselves, navigating change, and finding clarity

Greetings

Thus, we begin. We meet this time to address the month of January in the year 2025, the Year of Choice. It begins with a declaration: human beings stand before a choice. This is not the first choice, nor is it the last, but this choice holds meaning and has an impact. We will explore this subject in different ways throughout this year. Here, we wish to speak about it in the context of January.

This is the month in which the storm continues, and it is, in itself, a storm. Human beings do not easily let go of what they think they know, and when they hold on tightly, a storm arises.

There are many things you know. Sometimes, you know that you are wrong. Sometimes, you know that you have nothing to give. Sometimes, you know that you are mistaken. Sometimes, you know that you are right. Sometimes, you know that only you are right. Sometimes, you know that what you have to offer is better than what others have. Sometimes, you know that others must change for transformation to occur.

The truth has not changed, and it will not change this month either – for transformation to take place, you must change. To bring about change, you must recognize what it is that you are absolutely certain of, without a doubt, beyond dispute – and then see if you can question it.

There are different things that you know. There is knowledge of truth, and there is knowledge of pain. The examples given earlier are knowledge of pain. These are beliefs that make you less than what you are or more than what you are, leading to discomfort and an uneasy reality, to varying degrees. Knowledge of truth stems from self-love, from divine love, and it creates a sense of well-being and a much smoother reality.

We are not suggesting that you doubt the knowledge of truth. Many times, you are right, and it is worthwhile to hold onto that. You do not need to abandon your truth. However, if your truth leads you into struggle, into conflict, into disputes, then it is worth pausing and examining what is happening, what is unfolding, what is taking place. Is there another way to see things? Not necessarily from the perspective that you are wrong, but often, it is necessary to take another factor into account.

Sometimes, it is something within yourself that you need to consider. Sometimes, it is something about reality or other people that must be taken into account. Either way, we encourage you to pay attention to all of this. To notice yourself when you are absolutely certain of your knowledge, and that certainty is creating a storm.

Knowledge of truth can make you resolute and clear, unapologetic and uncompromising, but it will not lead you to war. This is because if you truly know your truth, you do not need validation from others, and therefore, you do not go to battle.

At times, you know your truth to a certain extent, but you still seek additional confirmation, and the external validation you seek creates friction and disputes. This is one of the primary factors you often need to consider to understand why you find yourself caught in a storm, in a conflict, in an ongoing struggle.

As mentioned, this month brings more of the storm, and the storm offers you an opportunity to examine and understand yourself.

You can create inner peace within your reality. You can live comfortably within your existence. To do so, you must be willing to navigate the unfolding events. The storm occurs when you exert all your strength to halt movement.

There are changes that you cannot prevent. There are twists and turns on your path that you cannot skip over. Internal and external changes need to happen. These changes will occur this month as well. At times, you will experience certain separations, at times, you will undergo renewed integration, at times, you will feel joy, and at times, sorrow. You cannot halt the movement of life.

We mention this because many times, you try to stop it, and when you cannot, you simply withdraw, placing yourself on the sidelines, watching to see what may happen and what may come.

We suggest that the barriers you place are not necessarily ones worth maintaining. If you need rest, then rest. But if you are avoiding, or if you are fighting to prevent things from happening, to stop change from unfolding, then it is time to accept that change will occur and to explore why you are so frightened by this movement that takes place in this world. This is a significant matter because you seek change. You are in this world to create change, to undergo transformation. Whether you are aware of it or not, this is why you came into this world.

In your lives, you find yourselves in different situations, facing various fears. You fear for yourselves. Fear does not give you good advice, nor does it tell you the right way for you to live. Fighting or avoiding are not positive actions for you in the long run. We encourage you to pay attention to the fears that tell you to stop the very change you have sought for yourselves, to bring awareness and healing to this place.

This is the essence of a storm – it is born from resistance to the change that needs to happen. You are indeed changing. The world is indeed changing. This is not something you can stop. In this, you have no choice. The choice you do have is how to live better in a world that is constantly evolving.

You do not remember your initial choice – to come into this world. You may remember the choice you made on some level of awareness – to embark on a journey of growth and transformation. The choice you have now is how to approach what is happening, how to respond, and how to make the most of it for yourselves.

Can you grasp the idea that you can live better and navigate daily life more effectively? Does it seem reasonable that things could be better for you than what you are used to and believe? It is indeed possible.

This year begins, and it calls upon human beings to choose themselves – anew. This statement holds different meanings, and as we have conveyed, we will explore them in various ways throughout this year. At this moment, we wish to say that choosing yourselves often means putting yourselves first on the list – and sometimes, being the only ones on it.

For many of you, this contradicts old perceptions of kindness. You may believe that being kind means considering others, making space for them. From this perspective, putting yourselves first – or alone – on the list might seem competitive, selfish, egotistical, and so on.

Many of you forget that kindness is also for yourselves. More than anything – before everything, after everything – kindness is for you. Can you see this?

You are required to be kind to yourselves. The most significant shift, the most essential choice for yourselves, is to direct more of your kindness inward – to your body, your soul, your needs, your emotions, your desires, your passions, and your dreams. Make space for yourselves, consider yourselves – you need this so much. You need this consideration from yourselves.

This month, like the months to come, will bring opportunities to put yourselves at the top of the list. You will face conflicts that will require you to choose – yourselves or others. This may deeply shake your perception of kindness. At times, you will find yourselves in situations where you must choose yourselves but will feel terribly guilty about it – as if you are hurting, abandoning, or doing something wrong.

Kindness is for you – first and foremost – no excuses. We invite you to turn inward, return to yourselves, choose yourselves, direct kindness toward yourselves, and be willing to change – to let go of what you know and relearn just how worthy you truly are.

With pleasure, farewell.

Tohar.
